Materials such as plastics, coatings, resins, polymers, coatings, and waxes are often exposed to extreme conditions in daily use. Especially UV radiation, heat, and oxidative processes can lead to color changes, embrittlement, or degradation of the material structure. To counteract this, Chemikos GmbH offers highly effective UV stabilizers, radical scavengers, and molecular scavengers – developed for long-lasting protection and the highest material durability.

UV stabilizers absorb harmful UV rays or convert them into harmless energy before they can damage the polymer or color layer. This prevents premature fading, structural degradation, and embrittlement – especially in outdoor applications, light-transmitting components, or transparent materials.

Chemikos UV 312. Alternative to Tinuvin 312®. Highly efficient UV absorber with excellent compatibility. Good thermal stability.

Chemikos UV 4611, Alternative to Cyasorb THT 4611®. Long-term UV stabilizer with very good compatibility and effectiveness.

Chemikos UV 3638, highly efficient UV absorber, very temperature resistant, also for engineering plastics. No effect on color. Also used in PET. Applications include PES, PSU, PA6, PPA, PPO, PPS, PC. Absorption between 200-400nm in the UVA, UVB, and UVC range. Usage: 0.1-0.5%.

Chemikos UV 5050 and 4050. Alternative to Uvinul®. Chemikos 4050 can also be used in food contact applications. In PP up to 0.25% (excluding alcohol-containing food). Also used in polystyrene, ABS. Type 5050 is very effective in PVC.

Chemikos UV 1164, alternative to Cyasorb 1164® in the UVA and UVB range. Very compatible for use in engineering plastics with long-lasting effectiveness.

Chemikos UV 1577, alternative to Tinuvin 1577®. Effective in UVA for polyester and polycarbonate, but also for polyamide. Also used in glass fiber-reinforced and flame-retardant systems.

Radical scavengers, also known as antioxidants or stabilizers, interrupt radical degradation processes by neutralizing free radicals that arise during aging or under UV or thermal influence. This effectively protects the polymer structure and extends the lifespan of individual components and the final product.

Molecular scavengers specifically bind aggressive degradation products or reactive split molecules released during material aging or processing. This targeted detoxification not only increases stability but also prevents undesirable reactions with other system components.
